BASIC GRAPHIC DESIGN : TASK 1

What is Graphic Design?

* Graphic design is the art and practice of planning and projecting ideals and experiences with visual and textual content. 

* Graphic Design work with draw, photographed, painted or computer-generated ( image ).


* Designer have arranged type, and image on posters, foam, advertisement, and other printed matter, as well as information visualzations and graphics for newspapers and magazines. 



                         

                       



What is Logo?

 * Logo is recognizable and distinctive graphic design, stylized name, unique symbol, or other device for identifying an organization. It is affixed,  included, or printed on all advertising, buildings, communications, literature, products, stationery, and vehicles. Not to be confused with a brand.






   


What is Icon & Symbol ?

ICON 
  
  * On a Web page, an icon is often a graphical image taht represents the topic or information category of another Web page. Frequently, the icon is hypertext link to that page. Typically, icons are ghathered in one or two places on a page.

* In a computer's graphical user interface (GUI) , an icon (pronounced EYE-kahn) is an image that represents an application, a capability, or some other concept or specific entity with the meaning for user. 


SYMBOL 

  * Symbol is a word, phrase, image, or the like of having a complex of associated meanings and perceived as having inherent value separable from that which is symbolized, as being part of that which is symbolized, and as a performing its  normal function of standing for or representing that which is symbolized: usually conceived as deriving its meaning chiefly from the structure in which it appears, and generally distinguished from a sign. 






What is Corporate stationery?


*  Your business stationery is one of the most important things about your business. it is often the most visible aspect of all corparate communications and the way your stationeryis seen by the others can greatly influence the way you are perveiced.


* high-quality stationery, beautiful designed, logically laid out with total attention to detail, and printed on high qality paper stock, will reflect incredibly well on your business. 








What is website?

* website is virtual location on WWW, containing several subject or company related webpages and data files accessible trhough browser. 

* each website has its own unique web adress (see uniform resource locator) which can be reached through an internet connection.







What is advertising?

* advertising is a form of marketing communication used to persuade an audience to take or continue some action, usually with respect to a commercial offering, or political or ideological support.

* the idea is to drive consumer behavior in a particular way in regard to a product, service concept. 





What is book design?

* Book design is the art of incorporating the content, style, format, design, and sequence of the various components of a book into a cohorent whole. 






What is brochures? 

* a  brochures is flyer, pamplet, or leaflet that is use to pass information about something.

* brochures are often printed using four color process on thick, glossy paper to givean initial impression of quality. 




What is billboard?

* billboard is brief anoucement (usually not more than 10 seconds long) identify the sponsors. it is broadcast at the beginning and/or at the end of a sponsored radio or televison program.

* large outdoor advertisement (usually 12 feet x 25 feet) for which rent is charged according to three factors : (1) the amount of traffic that passes its location, (2) its visibility, and (3) its size. 





What is product packaging?

*  the wrapping material around a cusumer item that serves to contain, identify, describe, protect, display, promote, and otherwise make the product marketable and keep it clean.

*  other distribution-related packaging considerations include : 
  - labeling, opening, size, and durability.







what is poster?

* poster is any piece of printed paper designed to be attached to a wall or vertical surface.

*  typically posters include both textual and graphic elements, although a poster may be either wholly text. poster are designed to be both eye-cathing and informative.

*  they are a frequent tool of advertisers (particually of event, musicians and films). propagandist, protestors and other groups trying to communicate a message.






what is greeting card?

*  greeting card is a folder card bearing a message of greeting, congratulation, or other sentiment, usually sent or given on a special occasion or holiday.






what is branding?

*  branding is the process involved in creating a unique name and image for a product in the consumers' mind, mainly through advertising campaigns with a consistent theme. 






what is illustrator?

*  an illustrator is an artist who speacializes in enhancing writting or elucidating concepts by providing a visual representation that corresponds to the content of the associated text or idea. 

*  illustratotion ai a unique art and illustrators creat image for a variety of outlets that include children's books, advertising campaigns, clohting, packaging and store displays, video games, movie animations, and comic books.







what is animation?

*  note the difference between animation and video. where is video take continuous motion and break it up into discreate frames, animation starts with indepedent pictures and puts them together to form the illusion of continuous motion.
